Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule and organise own work within the requirements of the work plan, and coordinate with other parties as required;
  • Ensure that milling crew personals have the tools and systems in place so work can be performed safely and efficiently;
  • Guide and coach individuals towards reaching personal and company goals. (Career development);
  • Identify opportunities for improvements (training, tools, etc.) and implement corrective actions;
  • Complete performance reviews as required on all direct reports in a timely and professional manner, develop action plans, and follow up throughout the year;
  • Promote and build a positive & co-operative working relationship with all departments, keeping safety, production and costs as primary elements to meet the mine plan;
  • Promote safety, PM compliance, equipment availability and cost control;
  • Support the Shift Supervisor in the daily activities of the Milling circuit;
  • Guide, coach & mentorship of Mill Operations employees in competency based circuit training;
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the health, safety and efficiency of the Milling circuits.

Requirements:

  • High School certification;
  • A Certified tradesperson or a holder of a Maintenance Technician/Technologist Certificate with work experiences;
  • 5 - 10 years of Mill/Crusher equipment maintenance related experience;
  • Strong computer skills (SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Valid Driving License;
  • Basic knowledge of MS Projects;
  • Understanding of PFDs and P&IDS;
  • Knowledge of Ball and SAG mills;
  • Knowledge of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps;
  • Knowledge of bearings, shaft alignment and lubrication;
  • Basic Troubleshooting skills of mill equipment.

Terms and Conditions:


  • Work location - SMD LEFA (Lero, Guinea);
  • 8 weeks on - 4 weeks off rotational basis;
