Moscow, May 23, 2013 — Nordgold, a leading international gold producer with mining assets in four countries, has announced a new information technology (IT) strategy and an information technologies & services development plan for 2013-2014.
The new strategy is focused on the development and standardisation of Nordgold’s IT infrastructure to improve the efficiencies of all operating units and the Group as a whole.
The new strategy will involve transition to cutting-edge business process management systems and includes the deployment of specialised geological support systems for Nordgold’s mining operations, centralised production technology management systems, and preparation for SAP exploitation.
The new strategy is a joint development by Nordgold’s Information Technology Service and Sky Technics Group (STG) consultants. It is tailored to factor in the unique nature of Nordgold’s business including its assets in remote locations over two continents.
